Pumpkin with a Vengeance

Here's photos of two really really good recipes I've recently tried from the amazing Vegan with a Vengeance by Isa Moskowitz.

Pumpkin Waffles

(sorry for the crappy cell phone camera pic, and yes, they're shaped like hello kitty because my sister has a hello kitty waffle iron)

I made these last week and they were a huge success with the whole family. With a little margarine and maple syrup they were nirvana. I attempted to freeze the extras, but they didn't last more than two days anyway.

Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies

I literally just made these to bring to my family's Thanksgiving meal tomorrow(they're still warm and the house still smells like cookies). Hopefully all my cousins and such will like them and they will prove that vegan food isn't "icky", so far my mom and sister really like them. They're really really good, just sweet enough and really chewy.

I've been on a huge fall pumpkin kick lately, waffles, cookies and I roasted a whole bunch of pumpkin seeds on Halloween with olive oil, old bay and paprika. All of which have gone over really well with vegans and omnis alike.

Hello!

Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm a teenage vegan. I've decided to start a blog to post recipes I've created or tried from a cookbook, random rambling rants and raves and hopefully help out other teenage vegans/vegans/people considering going vegan. I've been vegan for almost a year now and was vegetarian for about a year and a half or two years before that. I live with an entirely omni family, so getting them to support the idea of me going vegan was hard at first. They of course, thought I'd end up being unhealthy or that it'd be to hard. After pulling up lots of research online I finally convinced them. I think now they understand I'm still alive(and far healthier than I was before actually) and it's not that hard or "weird". Hopefully this blog will show other teens(and people of all ages) that being vegan is fun, healthy and easy.
